The significance to wearing waist beads varies throughout the many unique cultures that exist and what I’ve learned is beads play a very important role in the social and cultural lifestyle of many people. Beads may seem very simple, but they boast of centuries of intricate social value for many cultures.
Wear your waist beads for femininity, protection, attraction, fashion, spirituality, rites of passage completion or just to be wearing another piece of jewelry. Wear them in your belly dance class, yoga class or with your every day outfits.
Often worn under your clothes they can be worn on top to accent outfits for a little extra pizazz. Size doesn't’t matter, string and wire can be cut to your specifications so don’t hesitate to tell us you want a size -22 or 62+.

Just A Little Beading History
In some tribes, pregnant woman wear colorful beads until the baby is born. Females begin wearing waist beads from early childhood. They are meant to help them form their bodies into nice shapes and exemplify femininity at a young age.
Among the Karimojong and people from northern Uganda, where beads are worn on the outside, they are a feature of beauty and femininity. They are also used in initiation rites.
For the east, west and central regions of the world, beads still stand for one thing "beauty".
Traditionally in Buganda, a girl is given waist beads, known as obutiiti, when she is going to get married.
In other beliefs across the world every married woman should possess waist beads. The strings are supposed to be in odd numbers. It is believed that even numbers bring bad luck. It is also argued that an odd number implies that you are unique; you stand out from all other women. That you are one above the rest.
Some believe beads of bright colors are sexier. They attract the eye and allow your mate to adventure.
Others believe they are an instrument of foreplay. Mothers from Jinja, says beads are a sexy way of beckoning your husband. As you walk around your bedroom, the sight of waist beads around your waist sends serious sexual messages. Likewise in the morning, you can just shake them to wake your spouse.
They can be worn just for you or worn as a nice surprise for someone special.
